I disagree with replacing the template of Judeţe with this thing. Excepting the judeţe, no other administrative divisions have any administrative role except for getting European funds. bogdan (talk) 15:33, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But it looks nicer and in the future there will be no judete.--Anton Tudor (talk) 15:35, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that's true. Do you have a source? For that, a referendum is needed to change the constitution. bogdan (talk) 15:39, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
ok, but this template does offer some degree of geographic location by being located near a map & geographicly named regions. also, if you click on anythinkg but the counties, you will get the info that those divisions are at the moment with little role in administration. If the word administrative gets chopped down, is that going to be enough? Nergaal (talk) 19:26, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Administrative divisions

[edit]

Those "macroregions" are not administrative divisions of Romania. Any Romanian instition may group counties however they please for statistical purposes, but that doesn't make them legal administrative divisions.

The only administrative divisions in Romania are, according to the constitution, the counties and the communes/cities.

I.3 (3): Teritoriul este organizat, sub aspect administrativ, în comune, oraşe şi judeţe.

And please don't call dispute this "vandalism". bogdan (talk) 09:58, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Go play with your own template, ans is called vandalism editing without any agreement.Nergaal (talk) 10:24, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think one can own a template in Wikipedia. :-) bogdan (talk) 10:26, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And I don't think users should go ahead and ignore other people's opinions and work. Nergaal (talk) 10:27, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you want to include the units created for statistics in the template included in all counties' articles? Those groups of counties mean absolutely nothing, other than being used for creating statistics by the EU.
Look at Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics: other countries don't even have articles for those "statistical regions" (like Austria and their "Groups of Bezirks").
We're just cluttering the articles, giving the user useless information on some regions which don't have much meaning. We're simply giving them undue weight. bogdan (talk) 10:35, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I understood your point, I took your suggestions, and you are right. Nevertheless, you are welcome to replace the link on the counties with the templates rather than redirect this template to judete. Nergaal (talk) 10:39, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I replaced the {{Administrative divisions of Romania‎}} with {{NUTS-RO}} in the development regions articles, so {{Administrative divisions of Romania‎}} is only used in the counties' articles, so I was thinking that it's easier to redirect it to judete, rather than to change it in 40 articles. It would not affect the NUTS-RO and the development regions articles. bogdan (talk) 10:48, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
